Your Cruiser, DD or CV should be taking out those DDs first. nobody should be taking much damage on the first wave .ĥ ships in the second wave, 2 DD a cruiser and 2 BBs. Second: Don't run out a die early just not smart.įour ships in the first wave all thin skinned cruisers just focus fire if you have smoke use it to cover your cruisers. Just simply start shifting you ships to meet the wave. If first wave is south then third will be north and vice versa. If 1st wave is middle then third wave will be middle. Here is my recommendation no matter what your ship composition is.įirst: Know the scenario: you will always know where the 3rd Wave some from. This is a easy OP to win, 5 stars is not easy but really not hard. If you see me in game, PM me and I"ll try to run it with with you. The defense circle doesn't mean much at that point. You can gradually work your way closer to the defense circle, but you shouldn't go repair until after the 3 wave is dealt with. Go out and meet the first and second waves from the side (in smoke) so that you can get some citadels. One other tip that really helps is to use a smoke cruiser like Leander. just by throwing some torps in front of the closest ships or DDs, they will turn broadside slowing their progress and opening up better shot. ![]() Speaking of time management, one trick is to have a CV guy on the team that understands how to slow ships down. The crunch time for this op is the the third wave, is your team in position to intercept this wave before it crosses the defense circle? (BTW - it's usually a DD sneaking across, but if you fail in this part, not only to you lose a star, but the op gets much much harder at that point). The general concepts to this op are positioning and time management. ![]() ![]() Newport sucks - difficult with experienced players and almost impossible with everyone else around.Īs long as there are 2 or 3 competent players with me, I can 5 it most times.
